Description:

Spanning centuries of music, this program invites you into a luminous soundscape where voices illuminate both the sacred and the everyday.

Join Caritas A Cappella Ensemble for En français: A French Choral Journey, a program that traces the evolution of French choral music from the Renaissance to today. Featuring works by Josquin des Prez, Maurice Duruflé, Francis Poulenc, and Claude Debussy, the concert moves seamlessly between sacred motets and secular chansons.

From the serene beauty of Josquin’s Ave Maria to the rich, chant-inspired harmonies of Duruflé and the striking emotional contrasts of Poulenc, the program highlights the depth and variety of the French choral tradition. Lighter selections, including Renaissance songs and folk-inspired works, add moments of playfulness and charm.

The result is a vibrant and expressive evening of a cappella music spanning 500 years, yet unified by language, poetry, and sound.
